Design of this seven string bass guitar was made to satisfy not
only need of big tonal range but also need of change the tonal character
during playing.
This instrument empahsizes advantages of fret and fretless bass
in one instrument.

Buty - the ultimate Czech band
Low B and E strings are on fingerboard with frets and it is possible
to play them hard like on any other fret bass. They have firm and
precisely pitched tone. Middle A , D and G strings are without frets.
These three strings are being mostly used on fretless instruments
for their soft, sliding or vibrating sound with trombone character.
So in combination with low B, E strings you are able to play firm
bass line with the tenor melodies.

Last two strings - C and F are with frets again.
They simulate sound of the guitar.
They are perfectly pitched and you can add the alto voice to your
tenor melodies with them.
A quarter tunning enables you to play bass solos on the whole fingerboard
with many colors and big tonal range without changing scales.
It is also possible to play „double bass pickingly“ with right
hand. In that case the instrument has soft and smooth sound in every
position and C , F strings have the sound of hollow body jazz guitar.
We recommend to use these string gauges:
B 130
E 110
A
D
G 45
C 32
It is possible to use detuned guitar D string, it has softer
action and sound.
F 26
It is possible to use detuned guitar G string.
Note:
You can meet a problem at the beginning of playing this instrument
with tunning during playing octaves because there is a difference
in distances of the fingers in combination of frets and fretless
positions on different strings. But this problem will disappear
after some time and this bass guitar will satisfy you with all its
avdvantages.
